Claudia Hill Continues to Transcend Artistic Boundaries for Fashion WeekFall/Winter 2001 Presentation Blends Fashion with Performance and Graphic Arts New York City—January 11, 2001: Designer Claudia Hill continues to redefine traditional fashion show presentations with the showing of her fall/winter 2001 collection. Following her architecture-inspired spring/summer 2001 show, Hill shifts the focus of her fall/winter 2001 collection to those forms and shapes found in nature. Man-made edifice gives way to the structure of a single leaf. Hill's newest collection examines the notion that, as in nature, any given form can express both masculine and feminine traits depending upon the perspective from which it is viewed. Claudia Hill is presenting her fall/winter 2001 collection on Saturday, February 10, 2001 at 9pm. Lauded for her collaboration with artists across different fields, the show will combine fashion with the talent of modern dancers and performers and the work of visual artist Daisuke Nakayama. Amidst expansive graphic art animation, model-dancers suggest the construction of each piece through their physical gestures. Representative of Claudia Hill’s creative ambition, the presentation's simplicity will allow for individual interpretation and personalized experience. About Daisuke NakayamaJapanese cultural envoy, Daisuke Nakayama, has established himself as an internationally recognized visual artist. Daisuke was rewarded a Rockefeller fellowship in 1997 and his work has since been shown at Deitsch projects (1997), the Taipei biennial (Taiwan, 1998), the Kwangju biennial (Korea, 2000) and the Lyon biennial (France, 2000) among others. He became visible to the fashion industry with his recent contribution to Visionaire and previously collaborated with Claudia Hill on the short movie that presented her fall/winter 2000 collection at 7th on Sixth.
