Here We Leave Solid Ground

Exhibition at Kate Werble Gallery, New York City (October 17 to November 16, 2024)

Here We Leave Solid Ground includes two sets of tapestry sculptures made from plant-dyed fabric and various textiles collected over time. The works hang suspended from the ceiling, creating space to walk around and examine the materials they contain, emphasizing the openness of Hill’s abstraction and her desire for collaboration in both materials and construction. They are a result of—and are, in themselves—a powerful embodied experience of inter-connectedness between people and materials on the one hand, and the wider worlds of feeling, culture, time and nature on the other.
