This weaving contains parts of a wicker chair that belonged to Claudia Hill’s ancestors, a broken chain, a homemade shirt she wore as a child, a belt of her mother’s and one of her own, her grandmother’s cardigan, a necklace she made as a child out of Czech beads, a button necklace made by her son, a Félix González-Torres candy, an embroidered bird by a shoe designer, a toy parachute, a beaded element given to her by an artist friend, a scarf she got in Venice, golden yarns gifted by friends, scraps from costume design pieces, a protective bracelet made of devil’s claw seeds, a painted piece of the Vortex Blanket, hand-dyed silk and a hand-dyed warp.
