Up Hill
Like other young New York designers, Claudia Hill has recently evolved her signature style from sharp architectural cuts to softer, more organic influences. Open-sleeved jackets, felted wool jumpers and “stand on your toes” trousers with exaggerated, asymmetric bell bottoms give her line on extra snuggly element.
Perhaps this call back to nature, evidenced in all these leaf and shell-inspired shapes, signaled Claudia’s desire to move on. Sadly, this season marks her departure from our shores. The German-born designer, frustrated by what she found to be a stagnating creative climate, ventures on to Paris next. A bien tôt.
